SKywave's Historical Projects

Skywave Services Ltd is proud to work closely with the recreational and commercial marine industries in Hong Kong and mainland-China, from fishing trawlers through to superyachts.

We works closely with the marine industry to research vessel requirements and specify electronics from stand-alone units right up to fully integrated systems combining navigation control and entertainment. These are some of the current quality projects we are proud to be associated with.

Marine Electronics:

Some key components of this project….

The core of the navigation system is an advanced Simrad dual “black box” NSO/NSE package (networked) – incorporating 6kW digital network radar with 4’ open array radiator, 1kW BSM digital network sounder, C-Map MAX chart plotting with satellite and depth shading overlay, plus three additional Simrad 15” LCD displays for remote functionality (full access) at other stations.

Simrad NSO is a powerful system, but it is also user intuitive with simplistic control via both dedicated OP30 remote control and separate trackball controllers.

The Simrad NSO black box networked system is complimented with two sleek 15” low profile glass-finish Hatteland LCD monitors. And third 15" LCD monitor diapatched by Simrad NSE12's DVI output.

The package includes a 45cm Intellian satellite TV antennae system to provide digital satellite TV reception at sea (M3).

The instrumentation includes Maretron NMEA2000 network configured with a dedicated Maretron 6” colour display on a NMEA2000 backbone.

The primary heading source is courtesy of a Simrad HS70 digital satellite compass system, and feeds heading information to the dual station Simrad AP28 & AP24 autopilot system, heave compensation to the BSM-2digital sounder and all other relevant devices on the NMEA2000 network.

In addition to the NMEA2000 network, the package includes a NMEA0183 multiplexer.

As a safety aid, the vessel is equipped with a Navico NAIS300 model AIS (Automatic Identification System) device, networked to the Simrad NSO system (to aid collision avoidance).

The communications package includes two Simrad RS86 radio’s, an Ericsson GSM cellular phone and a Furuno digital weather fax.
